My name is Denny Shea, I am 49 years old and have been working with children for thirty three years. I have provided loving childcare from my home for over twenty years. I am licensed with the state of Georgia, DFCS Bright from the Start. My family and I are members of Grace Fellowship church, where I serve as the Nursery Director.
I have had a calling to work with children from the time I was a child myself. Working with children gives me the opportunity to laugh, have fun, love little fascinating balls of wonder and to make sure these littles know they are loved, safe, well cared for and that every need, emotional, and physical is important and taken care of while they are here. Every day I am blessed to be able to do what I have a passion for and love.
Here at Ms. Denny's we have a 2 playrooms and a large fenced yard. We provide a safe, fun loving educational environment. Some of our daily activities include arts, crafts, play-doh, puzzles, and circle time. We also sing, dance, read, and play. I teach the basics, such as, colors, shapes, letters, and numbers. I also teach them about Jesus, which I believe is one of the most important things that they should know. Along with lots of fun learning through play, circle time, and structured activities. We use 2 different types of curriculum, Abeka and Little Dreamers Dream Big. I provide them with LOVE every minute they are in my home. Our home becomes a second home, and the children become part of our family.
There are many great benefits to having your child in a family home learning center.
family child care learning homes offer small group sizes and more individualized attention. Research shows that small group sizes have a positive impact on child development, including increasing educational effectiveness, increasing one-on-one interactions, and improving safety. A mixed age environment allows benefits to all children. Younger children have older children as role models, and are able to do things they might not independently. Older children develop leadership skills and empathy. All children are able to develop confidence and motivation. Because family child care learning homes often serves a mix of ages, children are able to stay with the same caregivers for longer. This leads to deeper family relationships, deeper learning, and smoother developmental progress. A small, mixed-age environment that is full of opportunities for open-ended play, reading, singing, and movement will prepare your child for Pre K when the time comes.
