About Us
My name is Denny Shea, and I have dedicated my life to caring for and educating young children. At 51 years old, I bring over 35 years of experience working with children, including more than 25 years providing professional family childcare from my home.
I am licensed through the State of Georgia DECAL Bright from the Start program and am committed to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for every child in my care. My family and I are active members of Grace Fellowship Church, where I also had the privilege of serving as Nursery Director for seven years.
Caring for children is not simply my profession — it is my calling and lifelong passion. I believe that every child deserves to feel loved, valued, safe, encouraged, and emotionally secure. My goal is to provide an environment where children can thrive academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually while receiving individualized care and attention.
At Ms. Denny’s Family Child Care Learning Home, I strive to create a warm, faith-centered atmosphere where children feel at home and families feel supported. I believe in teaching children with patience, consistency, kindness, and genuine love. I also believe early childhood should be filled with wonder, creativity, exploration, laughter, and meaningful relationships.
Our home features two dedicated playrooms and a large fenced outdoor play area designed to encourage both structured learning and imaginative play. Daily activities include arts and crafts, sensory exploration, puzzles, music and movement, circle time, reading, dramatic play, learning games, outdoor play, and hands-on educational activities.
Children are introduced to foundational academic skills including colors, shapes, letters, numbers, phonics, name recognition and writing, manners, social skills, and Pre-K readiness concepts. We incorporate both the Abeka Curriculum and Little Dreamers Dream Big Curriculum to support early learning through engaging, age-appropriate instruction.
Faith and character development are also an important part of our daily environment. I believe children benefit greatly from learning about kindness, compassion, gratitude, respect, and the love of Jesus in a gentle and age-appropriate way.
One of the greatest strengths of a family home learning center is the opportunity for children to learn and grow within a small-group, mixed-age setting. Research consistently shows that smaller group sizes promote stronger relationships, individualized attention, improved communication, and enhanced learning experiences. Younger children benefit from observing and interacting with older peers, while older children naturally develop leadership, empathy, confidence, and responsibility.
Because children in family childcare settings are often able to remain with the same caregiver for several years, they experience greater consistency, stronger emotional security, and deeper relationships. I believe these strong foundations are essential for healthy development and successful transitions into Pre-K and elementary school.
At Ms. Denny’s, children are cared for like family. My desire is for every child who enters my home to know they are deeply loved, intentionally taught, carefully nurtured, and genuinely celebrated for exactly who they are.
